Beyond 3000 Home Security respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access, correct or complain about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect
Information you give us directly. When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number and whatever you tell us about your project. When you request the catalogue we collect your name and email address.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site. This may include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you spend on them and the site or search that referred you. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to improve the website, not to identify you personally.
How we collect and hold it
Directly from you when you complete a form, and automatically through the analytics tools described above. We hold it in the systems of the service providers we use to run this website, send email and measure traffic. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and to destroy or de-identify it when it is no longer needed.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry, to send you the catalogue you asked for, to keep ordinary business records, and to understand and improve how the website performs. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers who help us run the business, each acting on our instructions: our website hosting provider, our email delivery provider, our analytics provider, and the agency that maintains this website. Some of those providers may hold or process information overseas, and where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Cookies and how to control them
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on Google provides at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this website or contacting us.
How long we keep it
For as long as we need it to respond to you and to meet our record keeping obligations. If your enquiry does not lead to work and you would like your details removed, tell us and we will remove them.
Access and correction
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days, and we will tell you if we cannot give access for a reason the Privacy Act allows.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, email us with the details and we will acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
